CRIMINAL MINDS Executive Producer, Erica Messer, told
TV Guide that the new profiler's name is Alex Blake. She
is a seasoned linguistics expert and has some history
with Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). She is also a professor
at Georgetown University, and Reid has guest lectured
at her forensic linguistics class.

When Messer was asked about team romances,
she  maintained her taboo on the heroes getting involved
in relationships. "It just changes the show so much."
