Las Vegas after a whirlwind courtship. Nick is 
currently appearing on "Criminal Minds," in the 
recurrent role of computer ace, Kevin Lynch

Nicholas Brendon Is Having a Birthday!

Almost let April 12 get past us without a Birthday shout 
out to Nicholas Brendon, one of the CRIMINAL MINDS
family. Nick is also know for his work on "Buffy, the 
Vampire Slayer," and has recurrent roles on "Hollywood 
Heights" and "Private Practice." CM fans love him as 
Kevin Lynch, Penelope Garcia's on again/off again 
boyfriend. Right now, he and Penelope are on the outs. 
In fact, we don't even know the fate of CRIMINAL MINDS,
as we wait on word it has been renewed for Season 9.

CRIMINAL MINDS ~ Interesting Spoiler for Season Premier

CRIMINAL MINDS Executive Producer, Erica Messer, has said we would be seeing Timothy V. Murphy (Ian Doyle) this season, but he is not listed in the Guest Cast for the Season Premier, "It Takes A Village." Doyle's young son, Declan, whom Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) risked her life for, does appear in the first episode. This would have us believe that the Ian Doyle story arc will continue into the season.

Also, in the Season Finale, Kevin Lynch (Nicholas Brendon) had asked his soul mate, Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), to run away and "buy a farm" with him. Nick does not appear in the first episode. How did that resolve?

CRIMINAL MINDS ~ Nicholas Brendon Has a Birthday

Penelope Garcia's (Kirsten Vangsness) geeky boyfriend Kevin Lynch is celebrating a birthday today.

Nicholas Brendon is turning forty!

Brendon has a recurring role on CRIMINAL MINDS, although he was only seen in one episode in Season 6. We missed him at Emily's funeral, but we heard he ate two of the cupcakes Garcia baked for Seaver's graduation party.

The Morgan/Garcia shippers hate him for giving Derek (SHEMAR MOORE) competition for the fair Penelope. LOVING MOORE enjoys the character he plays on MINDS and we're hoping to see more of him in the future. It might be fun to see him in the midst of a crime. Could there be a serial killer who targets computer techs?

Looking forward to seeing him on CRIMINAL MINDS, or whatever his next project may be.

Nicholas Brendon will make his tenth appearance as computer geek, Kevin Lynch, on CRIMINAL MINDS on Wednesday, October 13. In an episode entitled "Compromising Positions," Brendon continues his role as Penelope Garcia's (Kirsten Vangsness) nerdy boyfriend. Fans of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" will remember Brendon from the role of Xander.

Who's the man in Garcia's life?

The Derek Morgan/Penelope Garcia shippers will be sad to know that Nicholas Brendon, who plays Garcia's boyfriend, Kevin Lynch, will be returning to his recurring role on CRIMINAL MINDS in Season 6. His first appearance is scheduled for the third episode, airing on October 6.

The romantics souls in the MINDS audience have long wanted to see Derek (SHEMAR MOORE) and Penelope (Kirsten Vangsness) succumb to the obvious chemistry between them and become involved romantically. Although there is a strong bond of friendship and love between them, it appears that is all it will be. The shippers will have to settle for reading the many CRIMINAL MINDS fanfics that put the two characters together.

At LOVING MOORE, we are secretly happy that Nick Brendon is back. We enjoyed him for years in "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," and we like his geeky character on CRIMINAL MINDS. We can't help but notice, however, how damn happy she looks with Derek's arm around her in the top photo.

Update On Criminal Minds Geek ~ Nicholas Brendon

After an alcohol related run-in with the law back in March, former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star and occasional computer geek on "Criminal Minds," actor Nicholas Brendon checked into rehab. As fans of Brendon, we have been hoping the actor would get his life and career back on track. He pleaded no contest to four misdemeanor charges on June 17, and was sentenced to a one year suspended jail sentence, and thirty-six months of probation. He was also ordered to attend anger management classes.

Nick has been making personal appearances this summer and was spotted looking tan and fit at a recent Meet and Greet Event with his fans. (top photo) We are looking forward to seeing him on "Criminal Minds" in Season 6 in his recurrent role as Penelope Garcia's boyfriend, Kevin Lynch. (bottom photo~with Kirsten Vangsness).
