With 19 days until the Season Premier of CRIMINAL MINDS, rabid SHEMAR MOORE/Derek Morgan fans may find the waiting easier if they spend time watching the Season 5 DVDs, which go on sale on September 7.

There were some great episodes in the past season. We saw Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) showdown with The Reaper, and the death of one of our own. There were close moments between Derek Morgan (SHEMAR MOORE) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) to sate the appetites of the Morgan/Garcia shippers. There was a hinted romance for Morgan with Tamara Barnes (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), and we saw our hero, Derek Morgan, get his own office at the BAU and become acting Unit Chief. Also, there were sensitive performances by some great guest stars, including Gavin Rossdale, Eric Close, and Sean Patrick Flanery.

And, there was the abysmal pilot episode for "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior," which we at LOVING MOORE hated, but we plan to fast forward through that one.

It did star Forest Whitaker, who is a fine actor, but CRIMINAL MINDS purists aren't on board for any spin-offs, and the episode was hurried, badly written, and lacking in chemistry among the cast members. Just sayin'......

The DVDs will be on sale on Tuesday, and include some nifty extras which have already been posted on YouTube.

CRIMINAL MINDS and Chili ~ Better The Second TIme

CRIMINAL MINDS is currently showing reruns on Wednesday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. While some folks dislike sitting through a program a second time, with CRIMINAL MINDS it is often the opportunity to fully appreciate the flavor of the episode.

This week (July 14), "Haunted" will air again. Remembering guest star, Sean Patrick Flanery (top photo), on the cover of Playgirl a few years back, it was hard to picture this hottie in the role of a killer. Young Indiana Jones turned psychopath? Really?

Flanery does an amazing job in "Haunted," as Darrin Call, a man who suffers a psychotic break and goes on a killing spree. As heinous as his crimes may be, he is a sympathetic figure, as his violent and traumatic childhood is revealed.

Also, guest starring in this episode, is Glenn Morshower (bottom photo with Paget Brewster), the bulwark of Federal Agents, through seven seasons of "24." Great seeing him again in an episode adeptly directed by long-time "24" director, Jon Cassar.

Like a warmed over bowl of chili, this one will be delicious. Also starring, SHEMAR MOORE, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, and A.J. Cook.

Criminal Minds Fans ~ The Good News and The Bad News

THE GOOD NEWS.....

CRIMINAL MINDS/SHEMAR MOORE fans will be treated to an extra episode this week when CBS airs an encore presentation of "Haunted." The BAU travels to Kentucky to track down a psychotic who suffered a breakdown and stabbed three people in a pharmacy. Guest unsub is hottie, Sean Patrick Flanery, pictured on the cover of Playgirl magazine. Episode airs on Saturday, January 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Series regulars include: SHEMAR MOORE, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, AJ Cook and Paget Brewster.

THE BAD NEWS.....
CRIMINAL MINDS will be preempted on Wednesday, January 27, for the President's State of the Union Address.
