CRIMINAL MINDS Stars Shine at Memorial Day Event

Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna
A.J. Cook
Forest Whitaker

The National Memorial Day Concert was held last night in Washington, DC. Paying tribute to the men and women who have served our country were some of our very own CRIMINAL MINDS stars. Joe Mantega, along with pal, Gary Sinise of CSI: NY were hosts of the event. A.J. Cook (JJ on MINDS) and Forest Whitaker (CRIMINAL MINDS: Suspect Behavior) joined Diane Weist and Gary Sinise in giving moving portrayals of people deeply affected by war.

In addition to taking time to honor our heroes, the patriotic actors devote themselves to other worthwhile causes.

Sinise is well-known for his charitable work, having founded Operation Iraqi Children, which provides concerned Americans with a means to help out Iraqi kids and helps to support our soldiers' efforts to assist the Iraqi people.

Joe Mantegna (David Rossi on MINDS), who served as an Executive Producer for the concert, devotes his time to numerous charities.

Joe's oldest daughter suffers from autism, it is one of the causes that is especially close to his heart, attending many events throughout the year to raise money and awareness.

CRIMINAL MINDS ~ The Good News & The Bad News

CRIMINAL MINDS NEWS

The good news ~ There is a new episode tonight (May 18). "Supply and Demand" airs at 9:oo p.m on CBS. It will mark the return of A.J. Cook to the MINDS cast.

The bad news ~ It is the Season 6 Finale. We begin a four month famine until the Season Opener in late September.

The good news ~ SHEMAR MOORE signed a new contract for the upcoming season and will continue his role as SSA Derek Morgan.

TEAM SHEMAR MOORE has been elated with his enhanced role and the fine work SHEMAR did this season. We adored the action scenes. (Dive into a canal and rescue me, Derek!) and the memorable scenes with Paget Brewster, especially in the last few episodes. We loved bad ass Morgan. (Take that, Billy Flynn!) We were touched by sensitive Derek who befriended little Ellie Speicer (that spooky looking kid from last season's finale) and by the Derek who suffered over the loss of Emily ("She was my friend, and she died right in front of me").

The bad news ~ Although Paget's comedy pilot for a series called "My Life as an Experiment" wasn't picked up, there has been no word on whether Paget Brewster will be returning to CRIMINAL MINDS.

The good news ~ CRIMINAL MINDS has just been officially renewed by CBS. It will retain the Wednesday, 9:00 p.m. time slot, and will be followed by CSI.

The bad news ~ Thomas Gibson has not signed on to return for Season 7. Though we think that the series could survive without him (Remember Mandy Patinkin?), we like his Aaron Hotchner character and would like him to continue.

The good news ~ CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR has been cancelled.

The bad news ~ There isn't any. SUSPECT BEHAVIOR was the reason CBS decided to diddle with the original series. Hope TPTB at CBS learned something. If it works don't fix it. And, don't cheat us out of an episode of CRIMINAL MINDS to use it as a pilot to launch a new program. Anger over being cheated still remains in the hearts of some fans, and we boycotted the program. Okay, maybe we did sneak a look at a couple of the episodes, but it sucked by comparison to the mother ship. Forest Whitaker overacted dreadfully, and there was waaay too much of his Cooper character.

CRIMINAL MINDS ~ Alternatives to Tonight's Lousy Episode

With the holidays upon us, CBS is showing reruns of CRIMINAL MINDS until Wednesday, January 12, 2011, when the series returns with an episode entitled "Corazon."

Tonight (December 22) is a repeat of "The Fight," which was the pilot for the upcoming MINDS spin-off, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior."

Most of us at LOVING MOORE were disappointed in the episode, as well as being disgruntled at the whole idea of a spin-off.

Also, we felt that we were cheated out of screen time with our regular cast members so that the cast of the new series could be featured.

LOVING MOORE is a SHEMAR MOORE centered website. So, we were naturally unhappy seeing about four minutes of SHEMAR'S character, Derek Morgan, in the episode and thirty-eight minutes of Forest Whitaker, as somebody named Sam Cooper. Besides, the episode sucked! Poorly written and without chemistry among the spin-off cast, it was an hour we'll never get back in this lifetime.

LOVING MOORE is suggesting that SHEMAR MOORE fans pass on the rerun tonight at 9:00 on CBS, but put on ION television at 10:00 p.m. They are showing "Minimal Loss," which was a vastly superior episode of MINDS.

A reminder that our LOVING MOORE AND MORE...Message Board is down due to server problems but should be back up within the next 24 hours.

19 Days And Counting To The Season Premier Of CRIMINAL MINDS

CRIMINAL MINDS Season 5 cover
Our Derek Morgan becomes acting Unit Chief
A close moment between Penelope and Derek
Haley Hotchner's death brings the team together

Morgan and Tamara Barnes, a romance?

With 19 days until the Season Premier of CRIMINAL MINDS, rabid SHEMAR MOORE/Derek Morgan fans may find the waiting easier if they spend time watching the Season 5 DVDs, which go on sale on September 7.

There were some great episodes in the past season. We saw Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) showdown with The Reaper, and the death of one of our own. There were close moments between Derek Morgan (SHEMAR MOORE) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) to sate the appetites of the Morgan/Garcia shippers. There was a hinted romance for Morgan with Tamara Barnes (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), and we saw our hero, Derek Morgan, get his own office at the BAU and become acting Unit Chief. Also, there were sensitive performances by some great guest stars, including Gavin Rossdale, Eric Close, and Sean Patrick Flanery.

And, there was the abysmal pilot episode for "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior," which we at LOVING MOORE hated, but we plan to fast forward through that one.
It did star Forest Whitaker, who is a fine actor, but CRIMINAL MINDS purists aren't on board for any spin-offs, and the episode was hurried, badly written, and lacking in chemistry among the cast members. Just sayin'......

The DVDs will be on sale on Tuesday, and include some nifty extras which have already been posted on YouTube.

Can Kirsten Vangsness Spark Interest in CRIMINAL MINDS Spin-off Series?

Popular CRIMINAL MINDS computer tech, Penelope Garcia, aka Kirsten Vangsness, has been approached to reprise her role on the up coming MINDS spin-off series, "CRIMINAL MINDS: Suspect Behavior," coming to CBS in January, 2011.

The series, which will star Forest Whitaker, and has had a chilly response from fans so far. Most MINDS fans disliked the pilot episode, "The Fight," which aired in April, citing a poor script, lack of chemistry among the characters, and a dislike for the idea of a MINDS spin-off in general.

Kirsten, a gifted comedic actress, is a fan favorite on the original program, beloved for her zany personality and flirtatious banter with the male cast members, especially Derek Morgan, star SHEMAR MOORE'S character. She is pictured with SHEMAR in the bottom photo.

Could the addition of Vangsness to the cast boost interest in the new series? Hum?

CRIMINAL MINDS Spin-Off Named ~ SUSPECT BEHAVIOR

Academy Award winning actor, Forest Whitaker, will be starring in the new CRIMINAL MINDS spin-off, which is planned as a mid-season replacement on CBS Network. The series has finally been given a name - CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR.

The program will follow an elite team of agents within the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, who use unconventional methods of investigation and aggressive tactics to capture the country's most dangerous criminals. Whitaker portrays lead agent, Sam Cooper. Matt Ryan, Michael Kelly and Gina LaSalle will also star.

The series was introduced in April in a lackluster cross-over episode with the original CRIMINAL MINDS called "The Fight." Chris Mundy, Edward Allen Bernero, Mark Gordon and Deborah Spera are the Executive Producers.

Lackluster CRIMINAL MINDS Spin-off Picked Up By CBS

Word came down today (May 17) on CBS's new fall series. The CRIMINAL MINDS spin-off, which was generally disliked by MINDS loyalists when the pilot aired, has been picked up by the network. On April 7, an episode called "The Fight," introduced the cast of the new series, which is led by Oscar winner, Forest Whitaker. While Mr. Whitaker was a wonderful "Last King of Scotland," he does not have the charisma to be lead actor in a weekly series.

Also picked up for the 2010-11 season was the new HAWAII FIVE-O, based on the Jack Lord series of the 70's. Starring the very charismatic ALEX O'LOUGHLIN, this one looks promising. "Three Rivers," his quickly cancelled series from earlier this season, suffered from poor writing and a cast without chemistry. Alex himself was the series' one redemption. A native of Australia, Alex earned himself a solid fan base in the USA with the cult favorite series, MOONLIGHT, and his guest starring stint on "The Shield." Looking forward to this one.

CRIMINAL MINDS ~ The Good, The Bad and The Great

After the abysmal episode, "The Fight (April 7)," which most true CRIMINAL MINDS fans hated, the series came back strong last week (April 14) with "Rite of Passage." It had action, humor, and a strong storyline, everything CM fans love. The only thing "The Fight" had was Forest Whitaker, fine actor, but lacking the charisma needed for the Sam Cooper lead role in the MINDS spin-off.

This week (April 21), we will be treated to an encore showing of "100," which may be the finest episode of the series. The entire cast is stellar in this episode where Hotch (Thomas Gibson) has a final showdown with "The Reaper" (C. Thomas Howell). This one is every bit worth viewing a second time. Also stars: SHEMAR MOORE, Matthew Gray Gubler, Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, A.J. Cook, Meredith Monroe, and Jayne Atkinson.

CRIMINAL MINDS Spin-Off Episode Sucked!

Last night (April 7) was the CRIMINAL MINDS episode that introduced the new spin-off series. In an episode called "The Fight," a second team of BAU profilers was featured, led by Sam Cooper (Forest Whitaker). While Whitaker is known to be a fine actor, he does not have the presence or charisma to be the lead actor in a series.
The episode felt hurried and the plot was hard to follow. The lame writing, combined with little character development, made the program very disappointing. Our beloved regular cast was short-changed and had very little screen time. The new cast showed absolutely no chemistry among the actors.
The entire hour had me longing for a regular episode of CRIMINAL MINDS, and vowing not to waste another hour of my time on this inferior version. Thumbs down, CBS!

Coming April 7 on CRIMINAL MINDS ~ The Fight

Next on CRIMINAL MINDS "The Fight" airs on Wednesday, April 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Guest star Forest Whitaker plays Sam Cooper who will lead the team on the new CRIMINAL MINDS spin-off scheduled for the 2010-11 season.
