As every SHEMAR MOORE fans knows, he was honored on August 27 for his work
on behalf of MS sufferers. Some video of the event has now been posted on
YouTube. It is a must see for every SHEMAR fan and it is delightful to see
and hear from his lovely mother, Marilyn Wilson-Moore. Also nice to see
SHEMAR's "Criminal Minds" co-star, Joe Mantegna, talk about his
affection for our Baby Boy as he presents the award to him.

The Cognitive Side of MS

The damage done to the nerves by MS also affects your critical thinking and other cognitive skills. It’s not uncommon for people with multiple sclerosis to suffer from problems with memory and finding the right words to express themselves. Lack of concentration and attention is also common. Problem-solving skills and spatial relations can also be affected by the breakdown of myelin. Cognitive inadequacies can lead to frustration, depression, and anger.

A Silent Disease

MS is labeled as a “silent disease” or “invisible disability.” Many people with MS look no different from a healthy person because some of the symptoms, such as blurred vision, sensory problems, and chronic pain, are not visible. Someone with MS may need accommodations even though they don’t have mobility issues and seem “fine.” Multiple sclerosis is also called a silent disease because even during remission the disease still progresses. This is sometimes referred to as the “silent progression” of MS.

It's not easy riding a bicycle 100 miles but SHEMAR MOORE and Team
Criminal Minds do it every year for Southern California Bike MS.
In October they ride to raise money and awareness of the
problem of Multiple Sclerosis.

Many MS sufferers have problems simply ambulating. Functioning
day by day can be as difficult as a hundred mile bike ride. MS is
debilitating and miserable, but not usually fatal.

'Multiple sclerosis is a chronic condition, because there is not yet a cure for the disease. It’s important to know that for the vast majority of people who have MS, the disease is not fatal. Most of the 2 million people worldwide with MS have a normal life expectancy. A rare few may have complications so severe that their life is shortened. MS symptoms can be managed and controlled with medications and lifestyle adjustments."

Multiple Sclerosis has touched SHEMAR MOORE's life with his
beloved mother having suffered from the disease for 15 years.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disease, which means it affects your nerves. A substance called myelin wraps around your nerves to protect them. MS is the breakdown of myelin as your body attacks itself. The word “sclerosis” refers to the scar tissue or lesions that appear as the myelin is damaged. The unprotected nerves can’t function as they would with normal, healthy myelin. The damaged nerves produce a wide range of symptoms that vary in severity.

If you live in the Los Angeles area, be on the lookout for cyclists. One of them
may be our SHEMAR MOORE, training for the upcoming Bike MS 2014.

The annual event takes place this year on October 11. SHEMAR and a
team of riders from "Criminal Minds" will ride 100 miles to raise funds
for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

SHEMAR MOORE Fans ~ Honor World MS Day

Every serious SHEMAR MOORE fan knows of his dedication to the
cause of Multiple Sclerosis. He became an advocate for MS sufferers
after his mother was stricken with the illness many years ago.

To increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for
research,  SHEMAR has been riding, along with a team of other
 cyclists from "Criminal Minds," in a 100 mile bike event each Fall.

SHEMAR is so committed to the cause, he even rode in

In what has been an annual event for SHEMAR MOORE for the past seven years,
he is again training for the upcoming Bike MS Challenge. SHEMAR, and a team
of bikers from "Criminal Minds," will ride 100 miles to raise funds
and promote awareness of Multiple Sclerosis.

SHEMAR's mother, Marilyn suffers from the disease, as do
some of our own LOVING MOORE AND MORE members.

SHEMAR tweeted earlier that he will be sharing information about
the disease, and asked that we visit his page on the MS website.

We will be following SHEMAR and his cause thru the event
on October 12. One of the nifty perks of SHEMAR being involved in
this, in addition to funds raised, is the abundance of photos of
SHEMAR in those tight little biker pants. 

What's SHEMAR MOORE Doing in Canada?

SHEMAR MOORE is in Toronto, along with his
"Criminal Minds" co-star, A.J. Cook. They attended 
the CTV Upfronts and have been doing numerous
interviews to promote Season 9 of the series. 

SHEMAR also has several night club appearances
scheduled while he's in town to meet fans and promote
his Baby Girl clothing line.
