SHEMAR MOORE. It dates back to his NAACP Image Award win
on February 6, 2015 when he won a Best Actor award
for his role as SSA Derek Morgan on "Criminal Minds."
SHEMAR talks about his surprise at winning,
his twenty year career and what lies ahead for him.

SHEMAR MOORE ~ Wins NAACP Award

SHEMAR MOORE's Friends, Fans and  Baby Girls at LOVING MOORE
were cheering loudly last night when he won the NAACP Image Award for
Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. 

Those of us who have been loyal fans throughout SHEMAR's decade long
portrayal of Agent Derek Morgan on "Criminal Minds" have always
 appreciated the fine work he does on the series. However, it was really
awesome to see the NAACP honor his work, too.

It is SHEMAR's 8th Image Award and the first for "Criminal Minds."
The previous awards were for his portrayal of Malcolm Winters
 on "The Young and the Restless."

SHEMAR may need to build another shelf at his home for statuettes.
With a long career still ahead, his LOVING MOORE friends are
guessing that this is only the beginning of the honors headed his way.

eight years on "The Young and the Restless."

Gotta laugh at the smoky gray eyes shadow they used
on SHEMAR. Derek Morgan would never. 

The Winters brothers were reunited this weekend at the
NAACP IMAGE AWARDS 2014 when both were nominated
for awards. Kristoff left smiling a little broader with a win in his
category, Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama.
SHEMAR lost out to LL Cool J for Best Actor in a Drama.

SHEMAR MOORE ~ Tonight's the Night

Every SHEMAR MOORE fan in the world believes that he deserves far more
recognition for his role as Derek Morgan in "Criminal Minds" than he has
ever been given, or ever will be given. In addition to "Profiler, Profiled" and
"Restoration," SHEMAR has been amazing in many CM episodes where he was
given the opportunity to emote during the nine year history of the series. Alas,
most awards to cable series. There seems to be a bias toward network
programs and their actors who are largely unappreciated.  

But somebody noticed! SHEMAR has been nominated for an 
NAACP IMAGE AWARD for his work on "Criminal Minds" and 
the awesome job he did in "Restoration," the Season 8 episode 
where Morgan had to delve into his past and confront the man who 
sexually abused him when he was a teenager. 

All shined up and looking fine, SHEMAR tweeted this photo yesterday of himself
and his lovely mom, Marilyn, as they headed to the awards show.
The program airs tonight on TVOne at 9:00 p.m.ET/PT.
 Red Carpet interviews begin at 8.

SHEMAR has received seven NAACP Image Awards to date. There's room for  
another on his shelf at home and he surely has earned it. Break a leg, Baby Boy!
